Turtles

It’s hard not to love turtles! Around since the dinosaurs, they have a gentle grace and such a ‘chilled’ demeanor that it’s not difficult to see where Finding Nemo’s “Crush” the turtle character came from. That said, we’ve seen these endangered animals put on quite a turn of speed once they decide they really don’t want to be around you anymore.

Our turtle collection comprises greens and hawksbills, all observed in their natural feeding grounds (we don’t photograph captive creatures). The beautifully-patterned greens live on sea grasses and algaes, so favour wide bays rich in grasses. All of our friendly hawksbills – which love sea sponges – were captured on camera whilst snorkeling or diving on reefs where the pickings are rich.
